Description

Use Python 3.11, 3.14, and 3.15 for routine push and pull request tests on Linux, Windows, and macOS. This retains the minimum supported version as the compatibility touchstone while covering both bugfix-supported stable releases.

Run the full Python 3.11–3.15 matrix on all three platforms for weekly scheduled tests and manual workflow_dispatch runs. The scheduled dependency-audit matrix remains unchanged. Update the support policy, contributor guidance, and workflow configuration tests to match.

Testing

Set up this checkout's .venv and editable install using the local development guide. Run commands from the checkout root.

  • Tested locally with .venv/bin/specify --help (Windows PowerShell: .\.venv\Scripts\specify.exe --help)
  • Ran relevant existing tests with .venv/bin/python -m pytest tests -q (Windows PowerShell: .\.venv\Scripts\python.exe -m pytest tests -q); use affected test paths for focused checks and LC_ALL=en_US.UTF-8 on macOS
  • Tested with a sample project (if applicable)

Commands and results:

  • uv sync --extra test — passed; created the worktree-local editable environment.
  • .venv/bin/specify --help — passed.
  • .venv/bin/python -m pytest tests/test_github_workflows.py tests/test_security_workflow.py -q — passed, 175 tests.
  • git diff --check — passed.

Sample-project and slash-command testing are not applicable: only CI selection, configuration tests, and related documentation changed. Live GitHub Actions execution was not run locally.
